Who we are

BidSlip: Quotes & Invoices (“BidSlip”) is an iPhone app made by Derek Taylor, an independent developer in New York. “We” and “us” in this policy mean Derek Taylor. Questions about privacy go to support@bidslip.app.

What stays on your iPhone

BidSlip saves the following in the app’s own storage on your iPhone. iOS encrypts it when your iPhone has a passcode.

• Your business details, logo, saved prices, terms and payment instructions.
• Your customers’ names, phone numbers, email addresses and job addresses.
• Jobs, estimates, change approvals, invoices, payment records, notes and activity history.
• Job photos and customer signatures. When a photo is saved, BidSlip removes its location data.

We don’t receive any of this. We can’t see, recover or delete it for you.

When information leaves your iPhone

Only in these situations:

• When you share it. Documents, spreadsheets and backup files leave the app only when you send or save them, for example through Messages, Mail, AirDrop or Files. After that, they’re handled by whoever or whatever you sent them to.
• Your iPhone’s own backups. iCloud or computer backups of your iPhone may include BidSlip’s records, depending on your settings. Apple or your computer stores those backups, not us.
• iCloud backup, if your version of BidSlip offers it and you turn it on. BidSlip saves versions of your records, photos, signatures and logo to your private iCloud storage. That storage belongs to your Apple Account, and we can’t read it. You can restore or delete saved versions in the app.
• Purchases. Apple handles subscriptions and billing. BidSlip checks verified App Store transactions on your iPhone to know whether you have Pro. We never see your payment details. Apple gives us sales reports that don’t identify you.
• Crash reports. If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may send us crash and performance reports. They don’t include your records.

What BidSlip uses on your iPhone

• Camera: only when you take a job photo.
• Photos: Apple’s photo picker gives BidSlip only the photos you choose. BidSlip doesn’t get access to your library.
• Contacts: Apple’s contact picker gives BidSlip only the contact you choose. BidSlip doesn’t get access to your address book.
• Notifications: reminders you set for jobs and unpaid invoices, and, if you start a free trial, one reminder before it renews. These are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent through our servers.
• Apple Intelligence: on supported iPhones, the optional “Describe the work” feature uses Apple’s on-device model to suggest line items from what you type and your saved prices. It runs on your iPhone; nothing is sent to a cloud AI service. You review every suggestion before it’s added.

Your customers’ information

You decide what customer information to store in BidSlip and what to send them. You’re responsible for having permission to keep and share it. Because it stays on your iPhone, customers with questions about their information should contact you.

If you email us

If you contact support, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to answer you and fix problems, and we delete support emails when they’re no longer needed.

Children

BidSlip is a business tool for adults. It isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

• Export a full backup or spreadsheets at any time from the Business tab.
• Deleting the app deletes its records from your iPhone. Export a backup first if you might need them.
• Turn notifications, camera or photo access on or off in your iPhone’s Settings.

Changes to this policy

If BidSlip adds a feature that sends information to a service we operate, we’ll update this policy before that feature is turned on and describe exactly what it sends. The date at the top shows the latest change.
